A few of us had been thinking about starting a Tea Party for some time but never
seemed to get around to it. It was a primary election and how that election was
conducted that made us realize we could no longer sit on the side-lines complaining
about how our government is out of control.  It was time to get up and get involved.
The Wheatland County Tea Party was born on the Fourth of July 2010.

It is our goal to work in the best interest of our community and America by keeping a
close eye on how our elected officials are conducting their (our) business. If citizens do
not wake up, our children's future will be bleak. This country is broke and there is no
end in sight, to the out of control spending.

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take
arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their
daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."
